Help us complete our new dressing room development
Portumna Rugby Club has launched The Final Maul, our community fundraising campaign to help complete the final fit out and finishing works on our new dressing room development at Clonfert Avenue.
This is a major moment for the club.
Founded in 2002, Portumna Rugby Club has spent many years operating without proper dressing room or clubhouse facilities. Through the commitment of players, coaches, parents, volunteers, sponsors and supporters, the club has continued to grow and now fields teams from minis through boys’ and girls’ youth rugby to adult level.
Our first permanent pitch opened in 2023. Now our first permanent building is almost complete.
The Final Maul is about bringing everyone together for the final push.
Why The Final Maul?
A maul in rugby happens when the ball carrier is held up but stays on their feet, and teammates bind on around them. Together, they push forward, using shared strength and momentum to gain ground.
That is exactly what this campaign is about.
Our club community has kept moving forward for years. Now we are asking the wider community to bind in with us and help complete a building that will serve Portumna Rugby for generations.
Add your name to our Supporters Wall
A contribution of €100 secures your personal, family or business name on our prominent gable end Supporters Wall.
The wall will be a permanent recognition of the people, families and businesses who helped complete one of the most important developments in the history of Portumna Rugby Club.
Family names, business names and supporters are already coming in from across the club community and beyond. We are genuinely grateful to everyone who has come on board so far.
What your support will help fund
Your contribution will help complete the remaining works needed before the new facilities can be fully opened and used by our players.
Funds raised will support:
- final fit out works
- internal facilities
- finishing works
- player facilities
- practical items needed to bring the building fully into use
This new building will provide proper facilities for boys, girls and adult players and will give Portumna Rugby Club a permanent home for the future.
